Paloma Faith has revealed that she is okay with the idea of having one only child after insinuating that she is ‘having problems’ getting pregnant.
The 38-year-old songstress already shares her three-year-old child with long-term partner, Leyman Lahcine.
The pair had made a point of keeping their youngster’s gender under wraps since welcoming their bundle of joy back in 2016.
However, in a recent chat with Giovanna Fletcher on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, the singer confirmed that she shares a precious daughter with Leyman.
While she is throughly enjoying raising and spending quality time with her daughter, Paloma has revealed that she does want more children some day.
Although she holds desires to add to her brood, the star has admitted that it will be nature’s decision if she welcomes another baby.
Opening up about motherhood and the challenges that come with it to Mail Online, the Voice Kids judge said that she was ‘having problems’ in the baby making department.
On having kids, Paloma admitted: “I’m having some problems with that, so nature will decide. I’m not panicking though.”
Being an only child herself, the Upside Down hit-maker is not overly concerned about her daughter’s upbringing if she does not welcome any more children into their family.
She insisted: “If I do end up only having one child, that’s OK, because I’m an only child and I know how to raise one who’s generous and shares.”
Elsewhere in the candid interview, Paloma declared that becoming a mother gave her purpose in life.
Having a child has made life easier for the star, and raising her daughter has given her daily routines more structure.
Paloma revealed that many of her friends who are without children feel a ‘little lost’ in their lives, but when you have small children “you always have a reason to wake up”.
It comes after the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hit-maker bravely opened up on the abortions she underwent in her younger years.
Paloma also recently shared some insight into the devastating miscarriage she suffered last year.
She revealed that she has had more than one abortion after admitting she wished she’d had children earlier.
The singer explained her situation to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast when she admitted: “In the past I’d been very fertile and I’d had moments when I was too young to have a baby where I’d chosen not to have it.”
It comes after she suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2019.
Paloma explained: “Last year I was trying again and it was strange because once my daughter turned 18 months I suddenly was like, I want another one.
“This is the best. Then I had a miscarriage and it’s sort of an ongoing thing.
“I have a scar that isn’t healing properly from my cesarean so it’s creating a bit of a toxic atmosphere which is also quite hard.”
The Mirror Online have contacted Paloma’s representatives for comment.
