Kanye West is cancelling plans to divorce wife Kim Kardashian and choosing to work on their marriage following his shock public outburst, new reports claim.
The 43-year-old rap superstar stunned fans and followers earlier this month when he declared on Twitter that he had been trying to divorce 39-year-old wife Kim for the past two years.
Kanye – who shares four children with his wife – also sparked alarm when he gave a chaotic speech at his first presidential election rally in South Carolina last week where he made the shock claim that he and Kim had almost opted to abort their eldest child, North, aged seven.
People magazine claims the rap star is now: “looking to move forward in his career and marriage to Kim” after publicly apologising to his wife, following his outbursts.
A source close to the star is quoted telling the publication: “He definitely understands that he upset Kim.
“He feels very bad about it. It’s obvious that he still loves Kim.”
On Saturday, Kanye took to Twitter to make a public apology to his wife after claiming they had considered an abortion when Kim first discovered she was pregnant with North back in 2012.
He tweeted: “I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter.
“I did not cover her like she has covered me.
“To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me.”
He added: “Thank you for always being there for me.”
It has been a jaw dropping month for Kanye after he made the shock announcement on 4 July that he is running for office in the upcoming 2020 US Presidential Elections.
Since his announcement, he has delivered a number of eyebrow raising interviews and has shared controversial tweets about his family.
Last week, Kim asked followers for compassion after her husband had alarmed many with his erratic behaviour.
She declared on social media: “As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder.
“Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.”
